For the past three years, CommunityWorks staff have been on the ground in Orlando, FL sparking neighborhood connections in Azalea Park and connecting with regional leaders across the city. While often known for it’s tourist destinations, Orlando is full of neighborhoods and local communities that make this city home but that often doesn’t get celebrated.
Inspired by the example of San Francisco and Missouri, we’re partnering with local leaders to launch the inaugural Orlando Good Neighbor Week. From Sept. 28 – Oct 4, communities across the city will participate through storytelling, celebration and connection.
This inaugural city-wide celebration will include:
- Neighborhood and regional events
- City and County proclamations
- Micro-grants for neighbors to host their own neighbor meet-up in partnership with WithNeighbors
- Local Business activations in partnership with the local main street districts
- Capturing stories of the people and places that make Orlando home
